Sheriff’s Deputies Apprehend Man for Firearms Violation

LIVINGSTON, January 18, 2008 – At approximately 5 pm, on January 18, 2007 a team of Polk County Sheriff’s Deputies apprehended Robert Presley with a warrant for a firearms violation.

Presley who lives in a mobile on some unpaved roads off of Highway 146 South about 6 miles out of Livingston lived in the mobile home with 3 other people.  One of the occupants, Bobbie Cordell, told livingstondailytimes.com that she was Presley’s common law wife of 9 years.  Cordell stated that Presley has a history of violence and that Presley is often both verbally and physically abusive.

The other 2 residents (who chose to remain anonymous) stated that Presley is a paranoid schizophrenic and that he often hears voices.  According to Cordell, Presley is 42 years old.

Seven Sheriff’s patrol cars drove up the driveway, some onto the front lawn of the mobile home, and ordered Presley to come out and give himself up.  According to Cordell, Presley refused to give up and Sheriff’s Deputies had to come into the house and physically drag Presley out of the mobile home and load him into a patrol car.

At that time, the convoy of patrol cars left the scene with Presley in custody.
