Gas Prices Reach New Highs
HOUSTON, March 7, 2008 - The statewide average for gas prices hit a new record high this week, according to the AAA Texas Weekend Gas Watch.
The current Texas average posted a weekly increase of three cents to $3.10 a gallon, an all-time record average.
San Antonio increased four cents to $3.07 a gallon, a new record. The Alamo City still has the lowest average in the state. Texarkana once again has the state’s highest average at $3.17 a gallon, which is also a new record.
"Record crude oil prices continue to push retail gasoline prices to new record highs," said AAA Texas spokesperson Rose Rougeau. "AAA is encouraging consumers to conserve by doing such things as consolidating trips and errands and to stick to a routine maintenance schedule to ensure your vehicle achieves maximum fuel efficiency."
