Update on the Death of Larinda Hagen

LIVINGSTON, January 9, 2008 – According to Captain Ricky Childers of the Polk County Sheriff’s department, the death of Larinda Hagen was inadvertently referred to as a case closed.

Hagen was reported missing by the Harris County Sheriff’s Department on December 19th and her body was later found by deer hunters on December 27th in a wooded area in South Polk County.

According the Childers, there is no foul play suspected and, Hagen’s death appears to be accidental in nature, but the actual cause of death is pending a toxicology report from the autopsy that was conducted.

Childers stated that once the investigation is completed, the case will be forwarded to the Polk County District Attorney’s office for review, which is standard policy in these types of cases.
