Accident in Livingston Sends Woman to HospitalLIVINGSTON, January 8, 2008 – According to officer Kevin Ward of the Livingston Police Department, an automobile accident that occurred at 100 block of North Houston Avenue and E. Mill Street sent a woman to the hospital.
The accident occurred at about 5:15 pm on Tuesday, January 8, 2008 next to Melbo’s store.
A red and gray 1988 Ford F-150 was being driven by a man south on North Houston Avenue when he was hit by an oncoming white 2004 Chrysler Pacifica coming from E. Mill Street driven by a woman. The woman in the Pacifica failed to yield right of way to the truck and collided with truck hitting its front driver’s side fender causing a female occupant in the truck sustain what appeared to be to be neck injuries.
The driver of the truck was given a neck brace to wear but refused to go to the hospital via ambulance. Two Americare Ambulances arrived at the scene of the accident and the female passenger of the truck was taken via ambulance to Memorial Hospital in Livingston. The female driver of the Pacifica appeared unharmed and her vehicle was drivable as she drove home after a report was filed with the Livingston Police Department. Officer Leon Middleton directed traffic as one lane was blocked due to the accident. According to officer Ward, a citation was issued to the driver of the Pacifica for failing to yield right of way to the truck. The truck was hauled away from the scene via wrecker from Lakeview wrecker service. Ward also said that everyone involved in the accident were wearing their seat belts. The Department did not release the names or ages any of the people involved in the accident.
